International Training Week at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering

The 8th International Training Week organised by the BUT International Relations Office took place at Bialystok University of Technology from 23-27 May 2022. Around 40 representatives of the authorities of academic centres, lecturers and staff of international relations offices from 18 countries visited our university.

Representatives of foreign universities also visited the BUT Faculty of Electrical Engineering. On 25 May 2022, the Director of the Institute of Automation, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Andrzej Ruszewski, DSc, PhD, Eng, presented the structure of the faculty to the participants and the main areas of research. The following day, a group of guests working in the field of electrical engineering and electronics met with the authorities of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and visited two laboratories located in the Faculty Research and Teaching Centre. Jarosław Wiater, PhD, Eng presented the High Voltage Technology Laboratory, while Assoc. Prof. Piotr Miluski, DSc, PhD, Eng gave a tour of the Special Fibre Optics Laboratory.

During the visit to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, lecturers from foreign universities also conducted classes in English for our students:

  • 25.05.2022, Prof. Dr Slobodan Lubura (University of Eastern Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina), lecture on ‘Photovoltaic (PV) power systems – PV modules, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms’;
  • 25.05.2022, Prof. Jesús Sagredo González (University of Burgos, Spain), lecture on ‘Modelling the high-voltage distribution network in Spain’;
  • 25.05.2022, Dr Astria Nur Irfansyah (Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember ITS, Indonesia), lecture on ‘Overview of embedded systems with applications in IoT and AI’;
  • 25.05.2022, Dr. ing. Ilie Nuca (Technical University of Moldova, Moldova), lecture on ‘New solutions for urban electric vehicles’;
  • 25.05.2022, Dr. Branko Drljača (University of Pristina-Kosovska Mitrovica, Kosovo), lecture on ‘Modelling light transmission in different types of optical fibres’;
  • 26.05.2022, Assistant Professor Abdelkarim Elbaati (Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology of Mahdia, ISSAT Mahdia, Tunisia), lecture on ‘Application of programmable cards in automatic control and robotics’;
  • 26.05.2022, Dr Marijana Ćosović (University of Eastern Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina), lecture on ‘Anomaly detection techniques’;
  • 26.05.2022, Dr Baris Karakaya (Firat University, Turkey), lecture on ‘Transients analysis in RL and RC circuits’.
